ABOUT ME
|
For as long as I can remember I've been in love with questions – the curious back and forth that leads deeply and joyfully into the unknown. Over the years I've come to understand that this investigation becomes even more fruitful when it looks into who and what we are, and when it leans into the emotions along this journey and the connection and intimacy between us. My foundational ethos is to foster curiosity, care and play towards our darknesses, to extend our loving towards that which is most challenging to love and to try to affirm all the flavors of life that come before us. I believe that which we push out or marginalize in ourselves, is inevitably that which is calling out to us to try to integrate and bring closer. To push it away creates complexes in ourselves, our communities, our world. To bring it in, and learn (sometimes painfully and slowly) to make it part of our entire self, is what brings about healing and transformation.
As someone who grew up with complex learning disabilities (including severe ADHD) I'm highly sensitive and aware of multiplicity. I do not believe there is ever one singular correct methodology, and a sense of attunement and experimentation is always necessary to determine the best way of working with another person or group. I hold a PhD in relational practice from Concordia University's Interdisciplinary Humanities & Fine Arts Program in Montreal. I have extensive training and practice in both Circling and Psychodrama. My work is also informed by additional trainings and/or experience in Process Oriented Psychology, Vipassana Meditation, Group Relations Conferences, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt Therapy, and Developmental Transformations. I have been facilitating individual and groups sessions using these systems for over 7 years.
